Graduate Program in Ecology (PGE) – UFSJ

The Graduate Program in Ecology (PGE) at UFSJ was established in 2015 and aims to train professionals at the Master’s level, providing a solid theoretical and practical foundation in basic ecology. Additionally, it prepares researchers to integrate concepts from different fields of knowledge to solve ecological and conservation-related problems.

Considering the expertise of its faculty, the program prioritizes topics such as biodiversity assessment in Brazil, ranging from genetic diversity to community characterization, as well as estimating the impacts of human activities. The program primarily serves students from undergraduate programs in Biological Sciences and related fields, both at UFSJ and other higher education institutions. It enhances and complements academic training, preparing professionals capable of evaluating, predicting, and mitigating impacts on natural resources, contributing to their conservation and management.

Furthermore, the PGE supports those who wish to pursue an academic career, fostering the development of new knowledge and innovations in the field of Ecology.
