The Libraries Division of the Federal University of São João Del - Rei is administratively linked to the Deans of Undergratuate Studies and Graduate Studies and Research, and aims to promote the acquisition, organization, conservation and dissemination of information to the University community, in order to contribute to the development of teaching, research and outreach programs and to collect, organize, maintain and disseminate the intellectual production of the University.
The UFSJ Library Division is made up of 6 libraries and the Technical Processing Sector - SEPRO. The collection consists of books, journals, theses, videotapes, CDs and DVDs and is protected by security devices including electronic gates. We currently have approximately 10,000 registered readers, 891 titles of national and foreign journals and newspapers, 1416 videos and a collection of 110,000 copies of books, in various areas of knowledge.
The Library Division staff consists of 32 employees and 8 extra collaborators.
The home loan service is available to UFSJ users, university students (undergraduates and graduates), technicians, faculty and employees regularly registered in the Library and holders of identification cards. The external Community can use the library for local consultation.

- Location and physical access to documents that are not available in UFSJ, via Bibliographic Commutation (COMU).
- Access to the CAPES journals portal.
- Interlibrary loans.
- User training.
- Access to the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
- Exchange of publications.
Equipment for access to Databases and the internet:
The Library Division has terminals for accessing the internet, searching the database, renovating and reserving books online.
